Evening walk and surf in Kaikoura

For a long time weekdays meant nothing. Now weekends and rainy days give time to disconnect from grinding manual labor and to seek unfamiliar views. Ice cold water freezes the brain as you duck dive through the waves. The cold prickles the unprotected hands and turns them bright red. Fingers feel like they are stung by thousands of small needles. With no crowds and glassy ocean it’s hard not to stay a moment too long. Next day throat feels sore and ears itchy. Well worth it every time.
