Scramble up Double Cone at the Remarkables

Finally there was a reason to drive to Queenstown, the dreaded capital of what mass tourism get become. Right next to the city is a skiing area with two peaks just waiting to be climbed. My first scramble up a mountain was made way more comfortable with the fact of having an experienced climber lead the way when things got confusing and steep. This ended up being one of the highlights in New Zealand. Classic route with a perfect weather window in good company, occasionally worrying of slipping and falling to ones peril. What more can you ask from a perfect day? Comfort zone got once more pushed further from the centre.
